Project Life 2014--How it Went

I've been very quiet about it the blog, but I have been keeping up with Project Life on a weekly basis for the past 3 years. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with "PL" as its known in the scrapbooking world--on the downside, it's time consuming, causes stress from being "behind," and leaves me very little time for scrapbooking layouts. On the other hand though, it's a great way to do some "creativity light" when life is hectic, and at the end of the year you have this fabulous, detailed vision of the day to day life you led.

Here's a view of my album from this past year:

The title page:

And a little viewer--she LOVES flipping through these albums.

I try not to make it too busy, but I love adding in little bits and pieces!

Since I usually use just one side of a page protector per week with occasional double spreads, I sometimes end up with "placeholder" layouts--so I try to make them fun, like this!

Lots of bits and pieces:)

I will probably keep my format the same for 2015 (although I have been thinking a lot about going to a monthly schedule).

Have YOU been doing Project Life this year? If so, would you do it again?

  1. Love the way your PL 2014 looks! So colorful and happy! Also love seeing little E flipping through it. Still doing monthly this year using Collect App- if it's not broken, don't fix it, right? 2014 was the first time I've completed PL, so I'm sticking with it!

  2. Darling pages, Keshet, and I'm sure it feels good to have 2014 done! Monthly works well for me, so that's what I'm sticking with. :)

  3. I love the way your book looks! And I love that you're not "rigid " about things (I tend to be). I too have a love/hate with PL. It is time consuming and stressful and my "traditional" layouts are very few because of this....but the completed book at the end of the year, hooks you, reels you back in and makes you want to keep doing it, despite the stress. This year I swore I was going to do weekly photos, but so far have been keeping up with daily pics. I have decided to print all of my "week 1, week 2 etc title pages on white cardstock and using the same silhouette file to simplify things. I spent entirely TOOO much time on going through Thickers to complete my title pages in both 2013 & 2014. Not this year :) I learn something every year when I do PL (this will be my third) and soon enough I will have it streamlined and simplified, right? Sorry about the long winded comment, but I love talking about PL :)

    1. I love this Kelly! I really feel that love/hate tug, and also miss layouts. I've decided to aim for one layout to a month to mix things up!

  4. I love that you shared this! As a mother of older children, I have found that there are so many things that you think you will never forget but as time passes, I did forget. I imagine you are capturing many of these moments. Its a treasure for you and your children.
