Life Lately.....

The past few weeks have been incredibly busy--mostly because a certain husband has been working late EVERY NIGHT and EVERY WEEKEND. Not that I'm bitter or anything:)

So for the past few weeks, we've been doing a lot of this:

(Me + baby + paci = feeble attempt at a self portrait!)

And this:

French onion soup--comfort food in times of stress.

Wearing my new super-summery shirt!  The LOFT never fails me.

(Oh, and there's a surprise in this picture--see if you can figure it out!)

In between all of that working, we did squeeze in a little family outing!

We went to a fantastic restaurant we hadn't been to in a while. It was a *bit* more dicey with Ellie on the run and causing trouble, but kept the meal moving at a good pace and had a lot of fun!

And for dessert, we ate this:

I have a weakness for churros:)

So there you have it--a little life, and food mixed in, to sum up our last few weeks.

Coming up in the next few weeks? Work, life, a little surprise to share, and A TRIP TO ISRAEL!! I haven't been in 6 years, and I can't wait!  Although I pity the poor souls who will have to sit near us:)

What are YOUR plans this summer?

XOXO Kisses

I had SO much fun making this layout. It pretty much includes all of my favorite things--gold Thickers, bows, cork cameras, Elle's Studio tags, badges, etc. AND pink, yellow and aqua together, my favorite color combination.

LOVE the look of the pretty gold thickers!

You can see a close-up of the jounaling below. It's basically about how Ellie bumps her head against mine when she gives me a "kiss." She actually doesn't do this anymore, so I'm glad I have the memory recorded!

And here's the full layout!

SO tell me, what are YOUR favorite patterns/colors in scrapbooking?

R Family Photos!

A few weeks ago, I got the chance to do a fun photoshoot with good friends, the R family! Their son is almost 10 months old and so adorable--it's such a fun age!

They showed me a beautiful old bridge in a park right near my house, and I was thrilled to find such a gorgeous location nearby!

We got some family shots....

And this sweet one of little A up in the air!

I wish I had a zoom lens for this one--but I love how you can see the gorgeous bridge!

A sweet daddy and baby shot....

Love love love black and white.

We got some sweet mommy-baby photos--which do you like best, color or black and white?

LOVE this family bridge shot. I learned from my last photo shoot that you have to get down LOW for this type of shot to work, so I was glad to use my knowledge!

And a sweet family swing shot;)

These were just a few of my favorites!

When was the last time YOU did family photos? Ours was when E turned one, four months ago!

Guest Posting!

Just popping into share that I have a guest post up at a friend's blog--check it out right here .

And, because what's a blog post without a picture, here's a shot of my Ellie's favorite new place to hang:

Oh, my.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Stitch Fix!

It's been a few weeks since my first Stitch Fix box arrived, and I can't wait to share!

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Stitch Fix is a styling service where you fill out your style preferences and then receive a box of 5 items in the mail. Once you try on the items (at home--no babies crawling under dressing room walls!) you can decide which ones to keep or return. Then, you simply go online and check out and drop any items you don't want in the mail.

After waiting to get off the waiting list for several weeks, I was pumped to see this on my front porch a few weeks ago:

The packaging was very pretty!

Enclosed is a sheet with pricing information. One fun aspect of Stitch Fix is that if you buy all 5 items, you get 25% off!

The first item in my box was this dress:

I really loved the style, but the dress was too short for me. While I can sometimes layer dresses over skirts, this one didn't quite work that way.

Um, no thank you.  (And please disregard the messy room behind me. Trying on clothes is intensive work!)

At $68, that was a resounding "NO."

The next piece was this black and white print tabbed sleeve blouse:

I loved the print, but the fit was a bit too big and the style seemed too mature for me.

I liked it better from afar--the pattern is really me--but the fit just wasn't right.

This top was also $68, and also a no.

The next shirt was this crochet top:

My first thought, honestly, was "eh." It seemed okay, but nothing special.

Then, I tried it on and started to think differently--

It turns out the top went beautifully with a belt I had in my closet (one of the perks of Stitch Fix--shopping your own closet for options!) and it really grew on me.  At $68, it was more expensive than I would normally spend, but I love it and wear it.

And don't mind the little pink photo-bomb above--she decided to come in for a full photo afterwards!

The next top was a pretty pink polka dot cinch-waist blouse:

I loved the look of it. Unfortunately, however, I didn't love it on.

I just felt it highlighted that tummy area I'm not so thrilled about post-baby. At another $68, this was a no.

My final item was an adorable anchor-print scarf.

I actually requested this item after seeing it on another blog review--apparently forgetting that I don't really wear cool scarves. I basically wear scarves in the winter to keep my neck warm:)

I figured spending $40 for something I was very unlikely to wear didn't make much sense, so this one went back too.

Overall, I was happy with the Stitch Fix experience. I thought the stylists did a great job intuiting my style. The biggest downside for me is that the prices are so high, although I do think the 25% off savings if you buy everything can make it more manageable. I won't do this on a monthly basis (that's all my bank account needs!) but would definitely try it again.
