WCS August gallery--no photos!

The August gallery is up at Write.Click.Scrapbook, and the theme was a bit of a toughie--no photos!

I kind of "cheated" and used this house shaped packaging from Crate Paper's Neighborhood trim as a focal point instead of a photo.

For this layout, I wrote about my experience of moving around and looking for home.

If you can't read the journaling, it says this: As a kid, I lived in Israel, Hong Kong, Hawaii and Ohio. As an adult, in Michigan, Philly, and New Jersey. After growing up all over the place, I badly want to put down roots in one spot and stay there. Which puts a lot of pressure on the "where to live” decision!
We’re hoping Elizabeth will be “home” for the long run.

And if you check the layout in the gallery, you can also learn Fun Facts about me and the rest of the WCS team!

Make sure you stop by the gallery and see what everyone has created!

Question--Where is home for YOU? Is it a temporary spot, or a long-term home for you?

  3. We love the home that we purchased in 2008, and we had our daughter while living in this house, but we are feeling a financial bind due to our high mortgage payment every month. We've decided to put our house on the market, and although we feel this place is our home, we know that home is where our family lives :)

  4. we're moving next week in to my in-laws house!
Prices have gone up so badly in Israel and since my in-laws are going to bee out of the country next year, we've decided to save the rent so we're moving in! We hope to find a place to call HOME next year!

  8. Love that gallery yesterday, and you had such a great idea for yours! I can't imagine having to move around that much. I have lived in the same city my whole life.
But sometimes, I wonder if it might not be fun to try some place new :)

  9. Love this! Great journaling! Home for me would be where I grew up, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Every time I go to visit, I feel like I'm going home.

  10. This is awesome Keshet! Great idea to use that packaging. We are "home" now, where I grew up, in Massachusetts. I have lived on the cape, in rhode island, in georgia and in florida. I'm thrilled to be home. And thank you for visiting my blog today.

  13. Thanks for your post on my blog! :) It was great seeing you at CKC, too. I wish I had stopped to talk, I'm just so shy I didn't know whether to walk right up or what... haha. Maybe next year! :)

  14. I will always be a NJ girl, but home for my family is the cool and damp Pacific NW (WA). Great job doing a layout with no pictures. This can be a real challenge! -Amanda

  16. Wow, neat idea and page. We are in a little house that we are slowly fixing up. It's the worst house on the block, but eventually, it will be the best ;)
