I love reading house tours on blogs, so I decided to share one with you all! Mind you, these are all "before" pictures, so I'll show you what things look like before we move in!
Here's our new little place with its sold sign:)
When you walk in the side door, you're in the kitchen:
(the view from the door)
(closer up in the kitchen)
To the side of the kitchen is ye olde laundry room.
Now back to the kitchen! We're hoping to extend the kitchen floor to avoid the great floor/carpet divide over here. And there's a lot of wallpaper love in this house. Serious wallpaper love.
The eating-in nook has tons of windows:
In the corner of the kitchen leading into the dining room is the butler's pantry:
Which leads into the dining room...
Currently filled with Craigs List finds. But my favorite part of the dining room is this little lovely...
Yay for built-ins!
Out of the dining room, you face the living room
Which has pretty bay windows...
and my beloved fireplace!
One of the first things I'm hoping to do in the house is change up the window treatments. A lot of the ones currently installed tend to block out light, where I'm a big fan of letting the natural light stream in! Any and all advice on window treatments is much appreciated!
And to knock off this segment of our tour, meet the foyer (this is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door):
I'm trying to choose a paint color for this area, but need something light since it's a darker area. Anyone have a soft beige/sand/gray color they love?
That's part 1--stay tuned for more house tour photos!
And since I'm a sucker for a good house tour, feel free to link up if you have one posted!
Tell me, do YOU share my love of house tours? Any House Hunters fans out there?
LOVE house tours. New space...the possibilities...it gets my juices flowing, even though the space has nothing to do with me.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE house tours too! It's fun to see what you have to work with (in this case, a pretty awesome place to start off with!). Can't wait to see the rest, and then what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteOooh - Love your house! It looks fabulous. You guys must be so happy xxx
ReplyDeleteLove house tours and congrats on your new place! Looks like a great family house!!!
ReplyDeletevery charming house. your family should continue to grow and you should make lots of simchas!
ReplyDeleteI love your house Keshet! And that built in is fantastic! I love house tours too. i often watch House Hunters and House Hunters International and I loved the TLC show Moving Up too. Good luck with the move :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the house! Looks like you have lots of natural lighting, which I love!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your new home! I have no window treatments in most of my house, but we live in the country where privacy is provided by our distance from anything else. But people always comment that they love our home because of the great natural lighting. Does make it cooler in the winter though.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love!! Is it an older home? It looks like it's oozing with charm! It reminds me of the house on "Sleeping with the Enemy" with Julia Roberts where she moves in when she's hiding. I've always wanted an older house like that with nooks and crannies and a swing on the porch like she had. I actually like that toile wallpaper but I might get tired of it. Do you plan to pain the cabinets or any of the woodwork?
ReplyDeleteI love house tours! Take a look at Benjamin Moore's Ladyfinger color. I have it throughout my first floor and it's so pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteWay too much fun!
ReplyDeleteDarling home~scrolled down and saw the outside ~ wow, beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYour house has great bones! Can't wait to see what it looks like when you've done a little painting and such! It will be great!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new home!! Hopefully you'll be able soon to make it yours and you'll feel HOME. That's (in my opinion) the most important thing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Keshet! Best wishes for many happy days in your new home. Love all the details, particularly that corner cabinet ;)
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! Can't wait to see what you do with it! :)
ReplyDeleteKeshet, I love it! It has SO much potential!! Decorating houses on a budget is one of my most favorite past times so I look forward to seeing you transform this house into your HOME. :)
