Happy Friday....and an Elle's Studio sketch!

Well, I'm happy to report that this week has been far more ordinary than the last. Which I'm very grateful for:)

This is my first experience in 2 years working on Fridays, so hopefully everything will magically get done in time for Shabbos! S is serving as my sous chef tonight (whipping up portobello grilled-cheese sandwiches as I write) and we're having a grand old time.

I wanted to pop in and share an actual scrapbook layout! I had so much fun working with this sketch from Elle's Studio:

I decided to go with a nature-y theme for my own layout. Here's a close-up:

And the full view:

I worked with my Studio Calico October kit and lots of fun Elle's Studio bits, including Handmade Layers items and my beloved scallop circle tags. How fun is the blue polka dot paper?

And because I'm feeling "blah" these days about my weeknight cooking, please*please share YOUR favorite dinner recipe!

Sometimes when I don't feel like making a normal dinner we do "breakfast for dinner" -- things like pancakes, scrambled eggs, and cut-up fruit.

  9. I love layouts with big expanses of pattern paper, which means, I love this layout

A delicious weeknight meal is Filipino Chicken Adobo. It's easy and very tasty. This recipe is ok: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/filipino-chicken-adobo-recipe/index.html.

I would put a little more vinegar (maybe 3 or 4 tablespoons more) than soy sauce - add more garlic, but just cut it in half instead of crushing (this was the key to me really liking my Adobo - use chicken breasts (it does taste better with the bone/skin, but I don't eat bone and skin... if you do use the bone/skin cut the breast-half into thirds, if you use boneless/skinless cut the chicken into nuggets or strips. Sometimes I will just put bone/skin dark chicken in for the flavor of the bone and skin, but I only eat the white meat - bay leaves are optional - this tastes AWESOME the next day. So, so, so delicious. Please try it and let me know what you think.

  18. wonderful layout. fabulous sketch and I love what you did with the SC kit. I've been trying to mix up dinner and I found two websites I love. Allrecipes.com and Food.com. I have accounts at both and I save the recipes I find and make so I can refer back to them. the latest one I love is crockpot lasagna. anything in the crockpot is a good thing.
    hope you are doing well.

  19. SO pretty! Love the colors and this is a great sketch- maybe I'll give it a try. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog- it's a huge honor to see your name there. I have felt a little overwhelmed lately so I thought it was time to stop and smell the roses- and give thanks for the many things I take for granted every day.
