House Tour: Part Deux

The past few days have been an absolute whirlwind! Remind me not to do renovations on a house anytime soon. Then again, after this one, I won't have the budget for a long, long while--ha!

I have really been enjoying watching the house come together, though. I took some risks with the paint colors and so far I love the result! Can't wait to show y'all the "afters" and wax rhapsodic on Benjamin Moore colors.

Without further ado, here's some more house!

Continuing on the first floor, we run into an office (which I apparently forgot to photograph--just think square room with wood wainscoating on the bottom and grassy wallpaper on top) and then....the PINK bathroom.

It needs no introduction. It will be a while before we can afford to update this, but in the meantime, I always like a challenge! I also think that removing the frilly "toilet hat" (for lack of a better term) will help.

Then, we have the technical master bedroom, which we're using as a guest room/playroom for now.

Lots of window treatments that block out light and pink dental molding, as you can see!  A view of the other side of the room:

Then, up the stairs we go.....

To the right is the room we're using as our master:

It has lots of window seats...

And lots of vintage details.

Next up, is the munchkin's room:

Then, back through the hallway we have the upstairs bath...

Check out the koalas:

And there you go! Stay tuned for house tour, part 3. Since I like to give my clicking fingers a rest build up the suspense, I'm all for breaking things up.

So what's YOUR take on house hunting? Did you find your current home quickly, or after a long search?

  1. I love it Keshet - it's got tons of charm - right down to the koalas! Enjoy the process of transforming it into your place.
I fall in love easily with houses so house hunting for me was painful. Funny, the only house I didn't fall in 'love at first sight' with is the one we bought. Now I wouldn't trade it.

  2. I LOVE it! It has so much character already and I'm sure your changes will be fabulous. My husband and I are sort of nuts - we completely renovated a 3 year old builders house! We loved our area but as we went from a family of two to a family of 4 in a pretty short timeframe there were some things we really wanted in a house - once we started looking we realized our house was a great start so we just modified it a bit! If I ever get around to it I will blog about it but my blogging is so sporadic these days who knows if that'll ever happen ;)

  4. OMGosh...WE had a pink bathroom in the second house we remodeled!! Exactly that same tile! Whatever you do, do NOT try to paint over it, even with the paint that's supposed to stick to tile. It doesn't work...and then you have tacky chipped white paint with hints of pink. Ick! Luckily we didn't stay in that house long or that would have been the very first total remodel project!

I truly loved remodeling every house we did (three before we actually built from scratch), so I know you have lots of fun ahead! Oh, and we did remodels with two little ones (mine are 15 months apart), so it CAN be done!! LOL!

  7. I can see why you fell in love with this house Keshet! Have fun making it your own! We found the house we're moving to via word of mouth - my hairsylist said it *might* be going up for sale. So we wrote them a letter and the rest is history :)

  10. Such a great layout! Love the rooms upstairs. I hope there's a 3rd bedroom and you can permanently stay upstairs! We had a pink bathroom too. I painted. We will have to gut it for a variety of reasons soon...
